Streaming TV and Movies with #Netflix - #Apps

*Not an official endorsement*

Streaming Movies with Netflix

Netflix has been my go to movie streaming app for about 5 years now. Like any other app, it has it's drawbacks. Some of the most popular shows and movies aren't always available. Waiting until the end of a new season to catch up on newer shows is kind of a drag
For these and other knocks, Netflix still has a lot going for it.

For one. The price isn't all that bad, especially when you can add multiple user accounts (your welcome, family). While it doesn't have absolutely everything, it has a great collection that can "freshen up" from season to season. Perhaps the best part, I have never had streaming issues. On wifi it's nearly flawless, on 4g LTE it's very acceptable (although, without unlimited data, you should stick to wifi only!) and even a few rare 3G only occasions a short tv show wasn't unbearable (longer features not so much).

I'm not head over heels for most of the independent movies you can find there but, more than once I have been very happy with Netflix Originals. More and more creators are flocking to streaming-only television. I plan on going into detail about my favorites in future blog posts. These range from comedy to drama to documentary. Netflix truly has something for everyone.

All in all, the reason I wrote this blog, Netflix is worth every penny if you can ever decide what to watch! Once you do pick something, though, you're bound to be starting a binge. You might even be discovering a new favorite movie or even rediscovering an oldie that you didn't realize you'd love.

In the future, I want to highlight, review and recommend movies and television worth watching, including Netflix originals so, grab some popcorn amd follow along.

Josh

Meditation Blog - May 24

Hello, again.
Peace to you.

For many years, I have been drawn to spirituality, native ideology, eastern philosophy and the like.

Today, I consider myself agnostic. I somewhat agree with everyone but, no specific discipline has "got all of it right" in my opinion.

     That's all beside the point.

I want to blog about the practice of meditation.

The essence is the awareness of one's breath. Focusing on your breathing, slowing things down and being mindful are what I imagine the goals of this practice to be.

I've practiced stillness before but, don't feel comfortable saying that I "meditate".

One day, recently, a thought came to me about the practice of meditation. Usually, pairing it with chants or mantras is an effective addition.
Personally, I've taken to counting.

Which leads me to this post. I have chosen the number 84, for obvious reasons and I will begin to take note of how much time passes each time I make a conscious effort with the stopwatch app on my phone.

The idea is that the more effective sessions will result in more time passing as a result of slower and more mindful breathing.

     I'm reminded of a quote:
"If you don't have 20 minutes to meditate, you need an hour"

Try this yourself. Let me know what you find. Feel free to ask questions and even share your own wisdom.

Thank you.
Josh

Buying is Your Investment - #Money

What you pay for says a lot about you.

When you buy houses, cars and even mattresses, you call it an investment.

Every penny you spend is an investment into your favorite products, shops and corporations, even the cities, states and countries you buy them from.

You ultimately have a choice which companies stay in business and which products continue to be produced.

This applies to everything you can potentially spend money on. Restaurants, Music and Movies, Sports Tickets and Apparel, your shoes and clothing, are all choices you can make.

It's hard to believe, sometimes, that companies give a damn about you. Some of them blatantly don't care, some of them will say anything to get you to pay them. Some of them genuinely care about your opinions and want to provide a service that honestly makes you happy.

You can do a little research on your favorite brands. Treat your money with the same respect as an investor would. Ask yourself if that company deserves your support. Do they adhere to qualities that you personally believe in? Do they pay employees well? Is the quality of their product worth the price they ask of you?

Your "vote" matters. Even a dollar here and there can be the difference between profit and loss. Your dollar or two can be the difference between success or failure. You probably won't get far yelling at the suits in the board room but, you can still say it with your money.

You can apply those "Support Local Farmers" and "Buy Local" ideals even to large corporations. Respect your hard earned money buy making sure it goes to people places and things that you care about.

Cheers,
Josh

84 Flowers for a Beautiful Bouquet - #ClubBouquet

Hello, again!

Long time, no see.
What's new?

First, apologies if the title is misleading wordplay. You will not literally see 84 flowers in this post, however, it's not entirely impossible that this post may in fact lead you to 84 pictures of flowers...

I will, however, need your help in growing that number.

ClubBouquet is a community of flower and photography lovers from all over the world and like any good bunch of flowers, it takes lots of love, dedication, patience and hard work before we can reap the rewards.

At the moment, here's the different "flower beds" around the web that you can help tend to:

Facebook Group: This group is becoming the epicenter of the club's growth. Facebook Groups has all the tools to bring people together around a common interest. All are welcome. Bring your pics!

Tumblr Gallery: This is the freely accessible gallery of exclusive "bouquets" of flower photography by artscience84.

Flickr Gallery: This gallery is for ClubBouquet original photos by artscience84.

Patreon: Which brings me to the Patreon Creator feed. One way to achieve such access to Exclusive Galleries is to become a $1Blog member on Patreon.

We all love flowers.

Of all the time I've spent doing photography, some of my deepest connections have come from sharing a few pics of beautiful flowers with others.

It's still in the "seedling" stage but, I look forward to watching this grow and I hope you'll find yourself compelled to contribute to the bouquet for the enjoyment of all.

Cheers,

Josh
