I'm in the Vault! | #EAaccess | @golumiero

Hey, gamers!

A message from Lumiero:
www.golumiero.artscience84.com

So, for a few reasons, I've decided to sign up for EA Access this month and I now have access to the Vault! If you've been considering doing the same, I thought explaining my decision would give you some insight and perspective on making your own decision.

For one, you know my favorite game is FIFA:

FIFA 19 Standard Edition is $59.99 in the Microsoft Store but, with EA Access, you get 10% off when you pre-order. That comes out to $53.99, a difference of $6 US. Not only that, you also get to play 3 days early!

So, with one month of EA Access at $4.99, the total cost is about the same but, I also get a month of access to 63 other games for the rest of the month! If you're planning on buying FIFA 19 and don't have EA Access already, it's a pretty simple decision.

That alone, is a good deal but, there's more!

You also get Free Trials of other new games before they are released!

For instance, Madden, NHL and NBA Live are all releasing new games for 2019 and you get 10 hours for no extra cost as long as you're an EA Access member!

That's good enough for me!

So, what are you gonna do?
Which one do you want to see me stream?

Cheers,
Josh | Lumiero

BTW: This is NOT AN AD. I just feel good about my decision and I think you should consider it. All the best!

Introducing Americans to English Football - @UnitedStateside | #EPL #Soocer #Futbol

THIS IS FOOTBALL

This is an intro to a new NBC Sports production entitled, "This Is Football".

In the first episode, American journalist, Joe Scarborough, begins with an expedition to Stamford Bridge, home of Chelsea Football Club, a week before the FA Cup match with Liverpool FC.

I just watched it back on DVR and was ready to jump out of my seat and hop on a plane to the UK. It was so interesting and exciting. I've been captivated by the Premier League since NBC began it' coverage a few years ago. This show has already stoked the flames of fascination I have for exploring the world, in particular, it's iconic stadiums.

America's oldest ballparks around 100 years old (Fenway and Wrigley are obviously on my list) whereas, in England, stadiums and clubs have been around since the late 1800's! (Sports and History are my strongest drives when it comes to Travel.) So, as you can imagine, the culture runs deep.

Look out for This Is Football airing on NBC Sports Network and catch the Premier League Live on NBC Saturday and Sunday.

On Twitter, follow @GoLumiero for World Football tweets.

Follow @UnitedStateside for USA Sports tweets.

Look, I Found a Nintendo Wii | @golumiero | #lumieroclassic

I got a "new, old system", today!

I dusted off this old Nintendo Wii and found a decent amount of games for it.

Unfortunately, I was too late to access the Wii Shop to download classic NES games :(

They are still out there, tho. Maybe I'll find one somewhere.

Anyway, I made a quick video to let you know that I've added the Wii to my classic console repertoire!

That makes an original Xbox, an Atari and now a Wii. Fingers crossed that I can dig my PS2 out of storage, it it's even still there. I did find a controller for it so, maybe it hasn't been given away.

Cheers,

The 5th Stand by Chelsea FC | #CFC | #apps

From Google Play

It's worth mentioning that Chelsea FC have done an amazing job on their new app, The 5th Stand.

I checked in this morning to find out that you can access the audio feed from the app (I'm in SoCal).

That's great on it's own but, when I closed the app and turned off my screen, the audio was still playing, which is perfect!

I can put my headphones on,  drop my phone in my pocket and go about my business. I can't say that for lots of apps.

That feature alone makes a worthy app. So, I thought it was deserving of a post, here.

It's also got great resources such as Match Day, News, Highlights, Connecting with Nearby Supporters and Alerts.

The UI is clean and simple so it runs smoothly and doesn't slow my phone down.

It's solid. Check it out here.

Come on, Chelsea!

What is the Our World Cares Initiative? | @OurWorldCares | #advocacy #ourhomeless

Nearly 5 years ago, a Twitter account was created to influence change and foster awareness of the housing crisis in America. By organizing accounts, sharing news stories and injecting positive affirmation, @OurHomeless was a passion project that would grow into service of more than just the US.

Being surrounded by charitable people tends to lend itself to gratitude. And with that gratitude, it becomes impossible to overlook the many causes and foundations around the world doing wonderful things for others.

So, as of August 18, 2018, @OurHomeless is expanding it's focus to a more global advocacy program. While ending homelessness remains a top priority, the new platform allows integration of multiple avenues for people to find, join, support and share their passions for Mental Health Awareness, Veterans Affairs, Life Threatening Illness Prevention and Treatment, Emergency Relief and so much more.

The screen name "Our Homeless" was about taking ownership. The issues that present themselves will not be solved by those who will not acknowledge and accept them. Homelessness is a societal issue, not just somebody else's to deal with.

"Our World Cares" is in the same vein. Living a world of peace, kindness and happiness requires care. It requires much effort and sacrifice and it will not be done for us. We must create that world. This initiative is an affirmation. This is Our World. We want peace, kindness and happiness in the world we live in. That is what we do.

Our World Cares.

VIDEO: Wayne Rooney Saves DCU in the Dying Moments | @UnitedStateside | #mls #soccer

Okay, okay. This isn't a Cup Final, it doesn't clinch the Playoff spot, it's possibly not the greatest goal ever scored in MLS. However, this may be the most amazing EFFORT I've ever seen in MLS, maybe in American Sports.

In case you're unfamiliar, Rooney is a Legendary English Footballer whom, for lack of a better term was deemed "washed up" in the Premier League. Add to that, the stigma of Major League Soccer being perceived a "retirement league" where the world's greatest careers go to end quietly. On top of that, DC United is having one of the worst seasons in MLS.

This video slaps all of that in the face and potentially sets the progressive tone for not only himself and his club but, perhaps the overall perception of American Soccer.

The whole world took notice of this one and rightly so.
See more tweets here

Since the beginning, there have been those who disagree and every time something great happens on these shores are quick to dismiss this nation as relevant in World Football. I'm sure they're still out there, maybe even right here.

What do you think? Does this change anything? Everything?

Leave a comment and Follow @UnitedStateside on Twitter for all things American Sports.

Congrats to DCU and Wayne Rooney on an amazing moment.

3 Facts About The Mosquito Plant | #clubbouquet #science

This is Citronella, aka the Mosquito Plant

It's widely believed that it repels mosquitos with a "soapy" scent. If you have one of those outdoor repelling candles it's probably made of this plant. For one, I had no idea that this plant produces flowers. Second, I've had some of my best propagation results with this plant. However, I've read conflicting reports that the plant itself doesn't repel, in fact, some mosquitoes actually land right on it.

So, I decided to do some research and I found these interesting facts:

#1: IT'S EDIBLE

One of my awesome followers on Instagram (Champagne Tastes) commented with recipe for a simple syrup made from citronella. It makes a great sweetener for your summer drinks.
Check it out here

#2: THERE ARE TWO VARIETIES

Although known as "The Mosquito Plant", the Citronella GERANIUM isn't the variety used in those backyard candles you may be familiar with. It is a leafier plant, like a lettuce and it also flowers.

When you use the repellant, though, you're using a product derived from the Citronella GRASS variety. As you may have guessed, it has long, thin blades produces an oil that is very effective at repelling mosquitos. It is not poisonous but, it can produce an allergic effect.

Don't worry, though. Both varieties are very distinct and it's not very likely that you will get them mixed up.

#3: IT HAS PRACTICAL HEALTH BENEFITS

The GRASS, anyway, has lots of homeopathic uses such as mosquito repellant, aromatherapy, anti-inflammation, fever reduction and deodorant! Whether, you burn it, apply it or ingest it, the grass variety is very beneficial in many ways.

The GERANIUM is also believed to repel mosquitos but is more useful as an edible sweetener and even the dried leaves can make a nice potpourri

Workaround for Buying Cars Error in Forza Horizon 2 | @golumiero | #fh2 #forzahorizon2

This game was recently made available on GAMES WITH GOLD. It is a few generations old so, some of the online features may not work the same way.

My first encounter with this error was at The Hub, beginning a new ROAD TRIP. You have to purchase a qualified car to continue.

Here's how to get through it and continue your ROAD TRIP.

CHOOSE A VEHICLE, then the RECOMMENDED DESIGN page comes up. That part is no longer available online.

That's where the FEATURE UNAVAILABLE error message shows up.

PRESS A to Ok that message.

That brings you back to RECOMMENDED DESIGN.

PRESS Y for Color options.

Choose a color and purchase the vehicle as usual.
