Happy Sunday, World!

The Harbin Ice and Snow Festival is featured on the Bing homepage, today and it is also our:

A winter wonderland in Northeast China https://binged.it/2sdB10B

The initial draw to my eyes was the beautiful image of a colorful coastline that only grew more intriguing when the Bing Quiz reveals that this entire construction is made of ice!

The festival has it's roots in an ice lantern show and winter garden party in 1963. It's a relatively new tradition by Chinese cultural standards but, after merging with the International Ski Festival in 2001 it has grown in popularity around the world.

Ice is harvested from the Songhua River and sculptors create from many inspirations including, mythical beings, famous people and even replicas of monuments and buildings from all over the world.

Today, is the first I've ever heard of this festival but, it is now officially on my Travel List!

How about you?
Have you been?
Would you go?

Let it be known.

Cheers,
